Harry Winston, the iconic jewelry brand from United States has been sold to the Swatch group for 1 Billion USD. Late Harry Winston (the person, not the brand) was also known as the jeweler to the stars, for many celebrities were seen wearing jewels by Harry Winston in the mid 1900's.

After a family feud between Ronald & Bruce Winston, sons of the late Harry Winston, the Harry Winston jewelry retail brand was sold as per court orders. Back then, in the year 2004, Aber, a mining company had bought 51% share in Harry Winston & had later bought out the company in 2006 & increased the share percentage to 100%.

Now, exiting from the jewelry retail business, Aber has sold the retail division of the Harry Winston brand to Swatch, which had earlier bought major watch brands. The rest of Harry Winston company, will be renamed to Dominion Diamond Company will now focus on the diamond mining operations in Diavik mine & Canadian diamond mines.
