Lucara Mines 1111 carat diamond, largest diamond mined in over 100 years!

Lucara, the Canadian diamond mining company, has found a 1,111 carat diamond which is really huge & an unprecedented find!

This is the biggest diamond mined in more than a 100 years & only the second biggest single diamond rough ever!

There is no way to even estimate the price that this diamond could fetch because not a single diamond of this size has been found in over a 100 years!

To put things into perspective, it has been estimated that the sale of this diamond alone can recover the cost of mine & all mining operations incurred by Lucara till date!

Earlier, in 2014, Petra Diamonds Ltd. sold a 122 carats blue diamond rough for $27.5 Million! & in 2010, Petra Diamonds Ltd. sold a 507-carat diamond to a Hong Kong-based retailer for US$35.3 million.
