The State Government of Maharashtra has announced a new Drought Surcharge on Gold, Diamonds, Petrol, Diesel, Liquor & several other commodities. The government says this additional collection of funds will be used top support the local farmers who have had to face a weak monsoon.
The Drought Surcharge on Gold & Diamonds is 0.2% from October 1, 2015.
