De Beers' sells Legendary Kimberley Mines to the Petra-Ekapa Consortium


De Beers (owned by the Anglo American Group). Kimberley was the town, where the diamond mining frenzy started 2 centuries ago, one of the largest deposits of rough diamonds found at the time.
De Beers has finally sold the last mining deposit of Kimberley to the Petra-Ekapa consortium. Although it is to be noted that in the recent years, this mine accounted for only 2% of De Beers' total diamond production.
