Taylor and Burton's Wedding Bands. Photo courtesy: Christie's |
The Burton Wedding Bands mark the auspicious moment in the life of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton when they got married to each other. Comprising of two eternity bands made in Gold, they may look like an ordinary ornament to a normal eye but these sure are very significant in themselves. The first band is designed as a baguette-cut Diamond eternity band and the second is designed as a circular-cut and single-cut Diamond octagonal-shaped eternity band. The pair was auctioned for an unexpected $1 million at 'The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor: Jewelry (II)' auction in New York.
